Okay first year campers, here’s the scoop...
If you are nervous about getting on the bus,
or are wondering what the first day of camp will be like, here's what you need to know!
  1. As soon as you finish reading this, practice saying goodbye to your parents 10x before school.
  2. The first day of camp, take your carry-on bag and lunch, and kiss your parents goodbye.
  3. Your parents can walk you to the bus door, where a counselor will sign you in and tell you who your assigned bus buddy is.
  4. Buses will leave on time.
  5. On the bus, counselors will walk around to make sure everything is all good. There is even a bathroom on the bus.
  6. Read your issue of the Towanda Times newsletter, relax and enjoy the ride.
  7. When you get to camp, Mendy, Alana, Bob, Amy, the Camp Moms, and Leadership Staff, as well as your counselors, will be there as soon as you step off the bus.
  8. When you step off the bus tell a staff member your first and last name and they will then point you to where your counselors and group are standing waiting for you!
  9. Your counselors will walk you up to your new bunk.
  10. We will introduce you to your groupmates.
  11. Everyone in camp gets a hair check!!! (Lice is not nice!)
  12. Your camp big brother or sister will walk you around camp.
  13. If it is hot, we’ll go for a swim.
  14. We’ll have flagpole lineup, where we will officially WELCOME you and everyone else to the start of CAMP… and then eat dinner (We are having Spaghetti (meatballs and sauce are served on the side), garlic bread, salad bar and Oreo brownies for dessert!
  15. Free Play after dinner (near the White Rock).
  16. Counselor Welcome Show and the first campfire of the summer.
  17. Bunk talk!
  18. A little sleep!
  19. Next morning: a great day of activities!!!!
